Personal Data Protection (Amendment) Act 2024:
Ensuring Compliance and Operational Readiness
12 NOVEMBER 2024
The Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) of Malaysia, enforced since November 2013, establishes a comprehensive framework for protecting personal data, balancing organizational data processing needs with individuals' privacy rights. After 14 years, the PDPA has been amended in July 2024.

The key changes introduced by the Amendment include the requirement to appoint data protection officer (DPO), direct obligations for data processors, mandatory notification of personal data breaches, new data subject rights on data portability, revised cross-border data transfer approach and increased penalties.
This one-day Subject Matter Expert Training offers a first-rate opportunity for the participants to appreciate the impacts of the PDP amendments on their organizations and companies. Most importantly, the training provides direction and guidance as to how companies and organizations can operationalize and comply with the new requirements.
